Walla Walla Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ben Gauyan surprised Edison Elementary kindergarten teacher Erika Helm with the district’s prestigious Coin of Excellence Wednesday afternoon during a staff meeting, recognizing her quick thinking and decisive action that helped save a student’s life.

Walla Walla Public Schools has appointed Brandy Ross and Marit Rasmussen as permanent principals at Edison Elementary School and Sharpstein Elementary School, respectively.

The highly capable referral period opens Monday, January 19 and closes on February 13.
